Will your Reddit post get removed?
Paste your draft and name the subreddit. It pulls that community’s real rules and shows you what Reddit’s filters and automod would do.
Why Reddit removes posts
Three different things remove posts, and they leave different traces.
- Reddit's filters. The site-wide spam filter removes posts from new or low-karma accounts that include links, repeat the same text across subreddits, or use URL shorteners. The message is "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit's filters."
- Automod. Each subreddit runs its own rules: banned words like launch, promo, or feedback, minimum karma and account age, blocked domains, or a required flair. It fires within seconds of posting.
- Moderators. A human removes posts for self-promotion, for belonging in a weekly thread, or for being off-topic. This can happen hours later.
- You will not be told. A removed post still shows up for you. Open it in a logged-out window to see what everyone else sees.
- What keeps a post up. Karma and account age before you post, no link in the body unless the rules allow one, a real question or lesson up front, and the weekly thread when the rules point you there.
