Bot, marketer, or human?

What gives a Reddit bot or shill away

The tells the detector looks for, and why each one matters.

• Bots repeat themselves. A bot account posts the same shape of comment across many threads: a compliment, a product name, a reason it is great. The words change a little, the structure never does, and Reddit's own systems flag exactly that pattern.
• AI writing has a rhythm. Even sentence lengths, stacked adjectives, no typos, and a tidy conclusion. Real Redditors write in fragments, go off on tangents, and rarely wrap up neatly.
• Marketers forget the downside. A person who actually used a product mentions what annoyed them. A comment with nothing but praise, a brand name, and a nudge to try it is astroturfing whether a bot or a person typed it.
• Specifics are hard to fake. Numbers, dates, what went wrong, what they tried first. The tells that push the human dial up are details a template cannot supply.
• It reads style, not identity. The result says how the comment reads, not who wrote it. A genuine person can sound like a bot and a careful marketer can sound human. Use it on your own drafts before you post, and on suspicious replies before you trust them.
